Music & Worship

Worship is the response of the human heart and soul, awakening to the revelation, wonder, and beauty of God's presence and work. We are created to worship God with our bodies, words, actions, work, music, and art. Merely presenting ourselves in awareness and openness to God is an act of worship. It is acknowledging God as the Creator, all-powerful, sovereign, all-good, and perfectly loving.

By the mercies of God, present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
— Romans 12:1

Drew Hazen has led music for corporate worship for 20 years in local churches and para-church organizations, with participants of 100-1500. He believes that worship is uniquely expressed through the medium of music because of the body and soul's response to rhythm, melody, and lyric. However, "worship" is not limited to the medium of music. Worship is also expressed in many other creative forms of art, design, observation, writing, and skill. This posture of the heart towards God includes joy, wonder, lament, and declaration of truth. Sacred Space is an expression of worship and encounter with God. Below are a few recordings of music, performed Drew Hazen.
